URGENT PSA - H3 IS ON LOCKDOWN.

NO ONE IN AND NO ONE OUT.

Well, Happy flu-anniversary to us. Right on cue. Down to the week even.

I’m not even sad. I am terrified and triggered by what happened this week, last year, where I lost seven of my huskies to a deadly virus because I couldn’t get enough medicine for everyone. We spent 15k at the emergency vet trying to save them and still lost two.

Btw, I hope this post is sad enough for you to help me... I’m in shock and more scared than sad.

I built 3 stages of quarantine and NO NEW DOGS HAVE BEEN HERE FOR WEEKS.

WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

My neighbor's dogs are loose, and I have no clue if they are sick.

I want to build a fence around this place so no outside dogs can get in.

What else can I do? We haven’t had anyone coughing in months. In fact, I walk around here regularly happy that everyone is so healthy, and I never hear the coughing.

Well, this one is spreading like it did last year and we took all the precautions.

The only thing I can think of now is to fence the perimeter of the rescue and ask the people to wear special shoes.

Any suggestions? I am lost and there is no way my team and I can emotionally handle another 48 hours of hell, exactly one year after we were there.

I wish I was kidding. Three phases of quarantine across two acres of land, no new intakes, and we still get an outbreak of something.

We are in a small town and these vets don’t test for flu. I have to take one up to an emergency vet that will cost us thousands. I have to do that today.

I need that vet clinic. We need to be able to protect them and our community. I need to not have to drive them two hours away while they die in my arms. We need to do this now!

It takes sadness to get the donations I need to cover these emergencies. I wish it wasn’t true, but it is.

Again, I hope this is sad enough to get you to help me.
