Do you guys remember Stanley's story?

How his owner dumped him at the Riverside shelter. How completely terrified he was. How his eyelids folded inwards, due to a medical condition called entropion, which resulted in the skin and eyelashes rubbing on his eyeballs, causing irritation and pain. The odds were stacked against him, a big, scared dog with a medical condition. At one point he was said to have been adopted on FB, but it never happened. Then the shelter needed space and he ended up on the euthanasia list.

So many people wanted Husky Halfway House to rescue Stanley. So many people said they would love to adopt him. Well now here he is! All healed up from his eye surgery and ready for his forever home! I remember someone commented that they couldn't wait to see his smile after the absolute terror that everyone could feel radiating from his shelter photo. It's a beautiful smile.

Stanley is 6 years old now and still gets some gunk build up in his eyes, but eye wipes clean him up quick, then he is good to go. He is a big boy and can be pushy with the other dogs. Definitely does not like to share anything that he has determined to be his but someone with experience should have no issue keeping him in check when he gets too bossy. He is not good with cats.

He is treat motivated and will easily go into his kennel for a snack or two. And he absolutely loves people! Stanley will wrap himself around you every chance he gets. It's like getting a big, furry hug. It's also his way of asking for some extra attention, when he wants it. Which is often. So, his ideal home would be with a husky/malamute savvy person, who gives out lots of treats and attention, either as an only dog or with a group that is submissive to his sassholiness.
