We've hit our limit.

This past week brought a sobering milestone at Husky Halfway House: we officially hit full capacity. With over 200 dogs on site, Jenni announced a temporary hold on all new intakes. Our space is gone, and without major funding, our hands are tied. But we’re not giving up. We’re calling on our community for 100 adoptions. That’s what it’ll take to make room and keep saving lives.
From Rescue Rides to red-hued sass machines, here’s everything that happened this week at H3:
🚨 Intake Freeze Announced: We’re Full
On June 16, Jenni shared a heartbreaking but necessary update: Husky Halfway House is officially on an intake hold. After accepting a few last-minute huskies from OKC and our planned commitment to a few from Avenal, our kennels are full.
This isn’t just inconvenient, it’s life or death. Without mass adoptions, we can't make room for the next urgent save.
"I need 100 people to adopt these dogs. While we wait, 1000 more will die."
– Jenni D.
We’re pleading for help: adopt, donate, or spread the word. We’re holding firm on this intake freeze until we stabilize. We have to. Every share and dollar matters.
🎟️ Fundraising Spotlight: Galaxy Watch Sweepstakes
We launched a major sweepstakes this week:
Galaxy Watch 7 Giveaway: $5/ticket to fund our staff and operations. Goal: 2,500 tickets.
🛑 Why it matters: These sweepstakes keep the lights on, the kennels clean, and the dogs safe. We don’t need pity - we need participation.
One ticket = one week closer to survival.
🐶 Husky Highlights: Meet the Stars of the Week
Upton: The Husky Who Forgot How to Chill
Meet Upton - a 3-year-old burst of pure Husky Energy who’s been with us about 115 days since leaving the San Bernardino County Shelter. He’s nonstop chaos, comedy, and command central. Think bossy toddler in a husky body with zero concept of rest.
He’s loud, fast, and endlessly entertaining. Upton thrives in a managed pack with structure, playtime, and an alpha buddy who can match (and manage) his energy. Smart, sweet, and always in motion, he’s looking for a home that gets the husky hustle.
Tacoma: Chaos, Comedy, and the King of Canine Drama
Tacoma is a 2.5-year-old drama king who’s been with us for nearly 580 days. Full of sass, energy, and little brother antics, he loves attention, snacks, and causing chaos—then screaming when called out.
He needs a strong leader and a structured pack to thrive. With the right fit, he’s all love, laughs, and non-stop entertainment.
