Spotlight: Lexington Shelter & Bronson’s Pupdate

Remember Bronson, the husky stuck in a small building with only four kennels and a failing AC unit? He’s now living his best life in his forever home. Thank you for helping us get him there!

But the Lexington, OK shelter still needs urgent help. They want to retire their current facility and build something better for the town’s strays. To do that, the remaining four dogs need homes and they need supplies to get them to adoption events.

What they need most right now:

  • Food

  • Supplies for adoption events

  • A window AC unit (H3 will cover this cost directly)

Adoption Feature: Bobbi with an I

Bobbi is a four-year-old red husky with the energy of a puppy and the personality of a whirlwind. After nearly 660 days at H3, this sass machine is still waiting for his forever home.

Bobbi is high energy and thrives with structure, hikes, runs, and brain games. He loves hard and plays harder — a true “four-legged tornado of love and chaos.”

If you’ve got the time, energy, and snacks, Bobbi is ready to be your boy.

Social Media Update: Moving Away from Facebook

Meta still owes us $50,000. That’s not pocket change — that’s food, preventatives, medical care, and shelter for the halfway huskies we’re fighting for every single day. Instead of paying us what we earned, they’ve left us fighting for it for months.

And what comes with that fight? Bullies. The kind of people who think it’s okay to accuse us of snorting the money, “scamming” with fake AI videos, or pocketing donations. One of those people was even a potential adopter — someone who thought they could tear us down while asking to take one of our huskies home.

Let’s be clear: we’re here to rescue huskies. We’re not here to put up with abuse, lies, or harassment. If you come at us with that, don’t be surprised when we punch back.

So here’s where we stand:

  • We’ll still post on Facebook, but far less often.

  • Our focus is moving to TikTok and to our soon-to-launch H3 App.

  • Charity fundraisers on Facebook will stay active, since those are processed through PayPal Giving Fund and not Meta’s broken system.

We’re not walking away from Facebook completely, but we can't waste our time working on a platform when they refuse to play fair with us.

Follow us on TikTok. Watch for the H3 App. That’s where our time, energy, and heart are going.

And to the ones who think false accusations and bullying will stop us? Hug your huskies for me — because we’re not going anywhere.

In case you thought we were kidding

Exciting News: MuttNation + Tractor Supply Recognition

One rescue organization was chosen in each state — and Husky Halfway House was picked for Oklahoma!

Huge thanks to Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation and Tractor Supply Co. for recognizing the work we’re doing here. This surprise honor means so much to our team and our huskies.

Look at us!!
Look at us!!

Adoption Feature: Jack & Akay – The Dynamic Duo

Jack and Akay aren’t just a pair of huskies — they’re a love story. This bonded duo came to us from the Oklahoma City shelter, and from the moment they arrived it was clear: wherever Jack goes, Akay goes too.

Jack is about five years old, a sweet black-and-white boy with the heart of a gentleman. He’s steady, loyal, and happiest when he’s with his people. He carries an old injury — a break from before age three that didn’t heal properly — which slows him down just a bit, but don’t think for a second it keeps him from playing or showering you with love.

Akay, around three years old, is Jack’s shadow. She’s spunky, playful, and totally devoted to her Jack-Jack. If Jack slips out, Akay will too — but not to run off on her own. She’ll be hot on his heels, making sure she doesn’t lose sight of him. Jack is her safe place, her anchor, and she isn’t doing life without him.

These two are:

  • Medium energy — happy to romp and play but just as happy to relax with you.

  • Escape artists — their bond makes them clever, so you’ll need to be helicopter parents when it comes to fencing, gates, and supervision.

  • Loyal lovers — Jack warms up quickly, while Akay takes a little longer to trust, but once you’re “in,” you’re theirs forever.

Jack’s voice:“Hey, I’m Jack. I’m the gentleman of the pair. I may not be the fastest anymore, but I’m steady, strong, and full of love. I’ll sneak out just to get to you, because you’re my person — and being by your side is all I want.”

Akay’s voice:“I’m Akay, Jack’s girl. He’s my everything, and I won’t go anywhere without him. I might be shy at first, but once I see that you’re good to Jack, I’ll love you too. Play with me, laugh with me, but most importantly — love my Jack-Jack, and I’ll give you my whole heart.”

If you’re ready to open your home to not just one but two incredible huskies, Jack and Akay are waiting. They don’t just want a house — they want a family who will understand their bond and love them as much as they love each other.

Transport Program Changes

After Rob’s last trip, H3 will no longer be offering adoption transport services. We cannot sustain the costs of doing it ourselves, and we don’t run a foster/volunteer-based program.

Instead, we’re inviting adopters to come onsite to meet their future husky in person — and soon, you’ll even be able to stay overnight with us.

This is a big shift, but it’s a good one. There’s nothing like meeting your husky surrounded by the rest of the pack.

Adoption Feature: Kia, the Queen Bee

Kia is a five-year-old girl who has been with us for 1,300 days. She’s an opinionated, food-loving, medium-to-high-energy husky who wants to be your one and only.

Kia is an escape artist, but with supervision (and a leash) she’s golden. She’s ready to bring sass, love, and endless loyalty to the right home.

Final Transport Fundraiser

The very last transport rides are scheduled, and the final one leaves tonight. These huskies have been approved, matched, and promised new homes — but we can’t get them there without your help.

Fuel is high. Funds are low. The huskies are ready.

Donate, share, or buy a sweepstakes ticket to help us get this last group home. Every gift matters. Let’s finish strong and send them home.

Every week at H3 is packed with wins, challenges, and stories that remind us why we do this work. Everything we share with you is about one thing: giving these huskies the lives they deserve.

But we can’t do it without you.

Your support is what fuels every rescue ride, every meal, every vet visit, and every adoption story. Whether it’s helping us finish these final transports, keeping the lights on, or making sure every husky gets the care they need, it’s the pack — you — who makes it possible.

Here’s how you can jump in today:

Let’s keep pushing forward, together — and send them no longer halfway home.
