Husky Halfway House Weekly Recap

May 28 – June 1, 2025

From ceiling collapses to long-awaited adoptions, the past five days have brought a whirlwind of work, wins, and wagging tails. Whether you’re catching up or reliving the magic, here’s everything that went down at H3 this week.

🔥 Rescue, Rebuild, Repeat: The Clinic is Almost Ready

Sometimes, you can’t wait for the perfect moment—you just have to make the most of the mess. This week, the ceiling literally caved in on the bathroom that will become part of our future on-site vet clinic. But instead of letting it derail our plans, we saw it as the sign to finish what we started.

We’re finally moving forward with the last upgrade needed to get our in-house veterinary services up and running: ceiling repair and a full conversion of the old bathroom into a surgery-ready wet table space.

💉 This upgrade means faster emergency response, more adoptions, and fewer huskies stuck waiting.

🚧 Mud Be Gone: Dog Park Overhaul Underway

Rainwater has wreaked havoc on our play yards lately, leaving the huskies trapped inside and stir-crazy. So we rented a skid steer, invested $7,000 in rock and materials, and got to work rebuilding the park from the ground up.

Why does it matter? Because play is everything. It’s how they burn off anxiety, build confidence, and find joy.

🐻 Bearface Is No Longer Halfway Home

In January, amid California wildfires and shelter overcrowding, one quiet, nameless husky captured Jenni’s attention. She called him Bearface—and now, he’s officially home.

Michelle, a longtime husky lover, saw past his shy exterior and knew he was the one. Just one video call later, the deal was sealed. Bearface had found his forever.
