Stray with a microchip and a “destructive” tag tells me she had a family, they couldn’t handle the husky, dumped her and let her roam.
Animal Control picked her up, called the chip info, the loser on the other end of the line said she was destructive and has anxiety, hello, she’s a freaking husky, so they officially surrender her to the shelter, putting her at the top of the euthanasia list. No need for a stray hold, right?
I don’t know, I’m kind of aiming for the day where it’s just me and the Huskies… I pretty much had it with the humans. I’ll just put a gentle reminder here that I was once a sweet woman that got tired of everybody excuses.
Want to go with me to the shelter? I will also go the extra distance and pick up the husky from the El Reno shelter.
6 hours of driving. Both of these huskies are already fixed so that’s a huge expense off of the rescue, but I sure could use some help with the gas it’ll take to go pick them up.
Got a few bucks to chip in? Donations are tax-deductible!
Venmo gets me the money now, but FB works too if it’s easier. Those funds come in once a month and we just pay off credit cards with it.
I’ll update you this afternoon as I pick these kiddos up with lots of pictures and videos.
I will be LIVE tonight at the Rescue, meet the new kids, pretty sure I said 830 pm, letting the huskies choose a toy from the Husky Coffee Company.
See you later! Stay tuned, it’s going to be a day of keeping huskies alive.
When our Scout was a puppy, and we had to leave him home while we were at work and our son was in school. He was safe and in a crate with toys and TV....in my son's playroom. He dug through the bottom of the crate plastic liner and ate the carpet that he scratched up! We found out that you have to put 1/2" plywood under the crate when you leave him inside alone....until he was older.
AYFKM??? (Rhetorical, I wish it was a joke.) The first time I had to leave Kodi home w/o me for more than a few minutes/hours (he was close to 1yo) was to go help my sister who was starting chemo in another state. He ate a couch, a pen, and various blankets. Keep in mind there were 2 people and 3 other dogs w him, so only I was gone. He's a Husky, so we waited until he was a bit older, got a new couch and he started traveling with me to my sister's. You adjust your life to figure out solutions that work. Abandonment... NOT a solution. Grrrr....
