But hey, this weeks prize is a $500 gift card. , also, I need Thanksgiving turkeys for the dogs and lastly, f-you-rescue, we just went on a strict intake hold.
Remember the other day I told you that the onsite team can no longer afford to be here full time? The huskies don't make enough to keep an operation this big going so we have to stop bringing in dogs till we can get down to a number that works for us as volunteers.
Scary shit knowing we won't be earning a living yet still have dogs to care for. But fine. We will figure it out.
It does mean that besides the two we have our eyes on at OKC, we will be on strict intake hold. Only one dog that I have pleaded for made it out.
So, let me make this clear. We cannot afford an operation this large. As of January 1st, the team will no longer earn a living.
The future of the rescue depends on what happens then. Will I have a team to help me care for them? I am lucky enough to have always figured out how to feed my kids, but will they?
This isn't about wanting to care for them, it's the reality of not being able to.
So that's just a warning and a reminder why you won't see a lot of "rescued" post in the next few months.
Ok. So it is what it is.
For now. I have to save this kid because no one would step up to do it and that's just another mark in the downfall of "big" H3 and the rise of the B-4. . (If you don'get the reference, trust me you dont want to know)
After this kiddo and the two from okc, we are officially on intake hold until we find 75 families.
In the meantime, I would like to ask everyone to donate enough to keep my team here full time but since that's not going to happen can you all pitch in so I can buy Thanksgiving turkeys for 170 dogs?
At least we can do that! You buy, I'll fly and cook.
