In honor of Bernie, her first official shelter pull when the rescue started. Of course, she came out with two more, but this post is about Sammy. Sammy with the smooshable teddy bear face who is still here at the rescue after more than a year. 420 days to be exact.
So, a little bit about this dude, he is a 3-year-old sassy pants and a food hoarder. We have learned that open food bowls and Sammy are a bad combo. The gravity feeders are fine, but a bowl of food is worth fighting over. Every time.
Sammy loves sunbathing, and just being a lazy husky in general. Every time I see him, he is napping on a bed or out in the sun. As soon as people enter the yard, he will flop right on over for belly rubs.
He likes to have his own space and he prefers to not share with other boys he doesn’t like. But he would be happy to share and argue over food with a new sister. Definitely cannot be in a house with cats.
His possessive traits can be overlooked when he snuggles up to you for those belly scratches, especially by someone who has husky experience. All 200 huskies at the rescue deserve their own homes but its Sammy's turn this time. I can feel it.
Sammy is currently located at Husky Halfway House in Oklahoma. All H3 dogs, including Sammy, are available for adoption throughout the USA, except for Hawaii and Alaska. We offer transportation services directly to your door upon approval of your application.
