Sarge

Male

Sarge is about five years old and has perfected the art of soaking up attention—because, in his world, people exist to adore him, and he’s all about that. He’s not the cuddliest husky on the block, but don’t mistake that for indifference. He’s got a serious case of people possessiveness—not because he wants to snuggle all day, but because he definitely doesn’t want anyone else getting your attention.

When he first came in, he made it clear that everything belonged to him—food, toys, space, people, all of it. He had to be separated to reset his mindset, and after some time, neutering, and structure, he’s doing much better. In a well-balanced pack, a true alpha will put him in his place, and he’ll accept it… reluctantly. He won’t let himself be pushed around, but he’ll back off if he has to.

Sarge is medium energy—he likes his zoomies and a good game of fetch, but he’s also perfectly happy lounging inside and just being with his person. He likes to be included in whatever’s going on, whether that’s exploring new places or just hanging out. He’s interested in meeting new people, but when it comes to other dogs, he’s going to test the waters and see if he can be the boss. If they don’t challenge him, everything’s fine. If they do? Well… leadership required.

Toys? He’ll play if you bring one to him, but he’s not obsessed. Tennis balls, though—that’s another story. Fetch is his jam, and if you’ve got a ball, you’ve got his attention. But if you really want to win him over? Treats. He loves them, but he’s got standards. Meaty, smelly, delicious? Yes. Crunchy? Meh. He’ll take it just to be polite… and then dramatically spit it out like you just offended his royal taste buds.

Sarge is looking for a home that understands huskies, leadership, and just a little bit of attitude. If you’re ready for a fun, opinionated, tennis-ball-loving best friend who knows exactly what he wants (and isn’t afraid to let you know), he’s waiting for you.

H3 Virtual Adoptions

Every Husky at Husky Halfway House needs food, medical care, shelter, and love every single day.It costs about $10 a day to care for one dog, and with over a hundred huskies on-site and transport currently paused, we need your help more than ever.

That’s where Virtual Adoptions come in.
When you virtually adopt, you’re sponsoring one of our Halfway Huskies while they wait for their forever home. You’re helping cover their daily care, meals, medication, and their second chance.

How it works
You choose your husky and your level of sponsorship, and we’ll take care of the rest.
If your chosen dog’s sponsorship is already met for the month, your donation will automatically go toward the next husky with the highest need.
If your husky gets adopted, we’ll contact you with the details of your new Halfway Husky and offer the option to switch or continue your sponsorship.
