Peppermint came to us from California after being tagged for rescue. Just when we thought we were bringing home one husky, the shelter called to let us know she was having puppies! Her babies were born at the shelter before the whole family made their way to H3..

Peppermint did an amazing job raising her little patties, and every one of them found a forever home. We hoped the same would happen for her, but sometimes a spicy husky personality is more than most people are prepared for..

Peppermint has what we call "strong husky language." She's loud, dramatic, communicates with her whole body, and isn't shy about telling you exactly how she feels. But if you stop by her fence, she'll happily press herself against it to convince you she desperately needs butt scratches. It's one of her favorite things..

She's also found her perfect partner in life: Charlie. The two came to us from California about a year apart and they share the same larger-than-life personality. Not to mention they absolutely adore each other. While they have some very strong opinions about other dogs, they think the other one is pretty great..

Because of their unique personalities, Peppermint and Charlie are considered part of our sanctuary family unless the absolute perfect adopter comes along. Until then, they're exactly where they belong. Safe, loved, and surrounded by people who appreciate every bit of their sass.

When you virtually adopt, you’re sponsoring one of our Halfway Huskies while they wait for their forever home.You’re helping cover their daily care, meals, medication, and their second chance.
How it works
You choose your husky and your level of sponsorship, and we’ll take care of the rest.
If your chosen dog’s sponsorship is already met for the month, your donation will automatically go toward the next husky with the highest need.
If your husky gets adopted, we’ll contact you with the details of your new Halfway Husky and offer the option to switch or continue your sponsorship.
