HELP.

We need $100,000 to save California huskies on government facilities' kill lists. Now. Because they are dying right now. This is Project 100.

The huskies need this so badly that I will donate $50,000 myself. But they need the other $50,000 from Team H3. They need it so urgently that I will 2x your donation.

It's my birthday. Birthdays are a celebration of life. So, I am celebrating with all of you by giving life to 100 more huskies - admittedly, not the most traditional birthday celebration. Why do this? Because of this little sasshole. I transformed his life -- and he changed mine forever.

Eighteen months ago, I drove to a California shelter to pick up this stray husky who had been dumped on the side of the road.

Slowly, over months, he blossomed from a traumatized, withdrawn shell into a joyful, extroverted husky. The light came back into his eyes - honoring his name, Kintsu - short for Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, of embracing rather than denying the truth of breakage.

And I felt deeply, profoundly called to fight for every abandoned, neglected, abused, traumatized, or dumped husky to experience the same transformation. To honor the philosophy of kintsugi - that a healed, repaired life can be even more beautiful than the original.

I made this promise to him: because of you, others will live. We will repair their lives, too, with gold.

I have started to honor my promise via a collaboration with H3 that has already saved more than 200 lives from California. This is the next step towards making good my vow.

Here is his transformation. The first photo is his first night in my place...scared, underweight, overwhelmed. The remaining photos are his forever. I am in rescue because every last abandoned husky out there deserves the same. Project 100 honors him - and every husky for whom the H3 family has done the same.

In the comments, show us how your rescue huskies transformed. And please donate in their honor. Donate so that we can do for others what you did for yours.

This is Project100. Let's do this together, for them.
