This poor kid...
I am outside city hall waiting for reinforcements now.. I'll update ASAP.
Got him! An authority took me to the home and I was able to secure him. And now I am crying again..
He cried a bit trying to lay down. I am not sure if it’s pain or if he was happy about the soft blanket.
The city manager was able to escort me to the property and talk to the family. I went to the back yard and my heart dropped. There are multiple other dogs chained up too but none as in bad shape as the husky.
It was about a week ago when an animal control officer I have worked with in the past asked me if there is anything I can do to help this husky. The city authorities were unable to take him from the family, which infuriates me, so she reached out to me. After a few discussions with the family and warnings from the authorities, the family agreed to let me buy him. I gave them $100.
I’ll update again once we arrive at the rescue.

I bet it won’t be long before that tail goes up. He was enjoying the attention I gave him and is already feeling better after eating.
For now he will stay quarantined in his room by himself while he heals a bit. Once he gets time in quarantine we will give him a bunch of buddies to play with.
Stay tuned. I’ll be heading over to check in him in a bit.
Well, that tail is wagging and he is a happy joy. He loves being touched. Tomorrow he will get a medicated bath and will really start loving life.
I am working on a video for you guys in a bit more detail going into his time here in day one. I'll also get you an update tomorrow after he gets to spend the night on a pillow instead of a tree root.
About to post a video on my other pages, it walks him into the kennel.
I named him Benjamin. Because he costs us $100 😆.

Benny saw Dr Glover today. He is exactly as I thought, demodex mange, malnutrition and high heart worm positive.
Doc is writing up a report for me because I plan to file neglect charges.
